Well it has been a little while since I sat down for an update. We have been busy getting things done around the house. Starting seeds for the garden and taking care of the animals. The goat kids are getting big quickly and it is great to see them thrive. They have started to eat some hay and grain. I thought time flew with my own kids, but wow it goes even faster with animal kids. Soon I will begin weaning the kids and before we know it they will be separated to avoid any breeding issues.
The local farm stores were still waiting on a shipment of Guinea hens last I knew so that means we are waiting too :) It is fine actually, it will give us more time for the weather to warm up a bit before getting any more chickens. As of this weekend the chicks we previously purchased have moved outside. They are getting used to their new home in the barn under a heat lamp of course. It feels great to move them out there cause it means that spring is slowly starting to arrive. I am hoping that it will be here sooner than we think, but just feeling 40-50 degree weather for a couple days feels great to me.
We truly enjoy spending time on our mini farm and working as a family. Making things on our own as often as possible
